More about Joanie...

Joanie Collins is the progeny of two concert violinists.She grew up playing the violin and the piano, and dancing ballet. She was the founder and artistic director of the Performing Arts and Cultural Exchange Studios (P.A.C.E.S.) in Kealakekua from 1995 to 2001, where she taught violin, piano, and ballet. She was one of the founding members of the Kona Chamber Orchestra, and Violinist in P.A.C.E.S’ resident string quartet, the String Be`ings. 

Joanie was half of the Hawaiian music duo Mango for 24 years from 1995 to 2019, with Carl Villaverde. They left Hawai`i after 9-11-2001 to play in Salt Lake City during the winter Olympics, and went on to play shows in California and Japan. Joanie returned home to Hawai`i in 2011.

She frequently travels inter-island and to the mainland to participate in musical ventures both as a solo artist and with different artists. 

She has been a violinist with the Kamuela Philharmonic Orchestra since 2012.

I've been playing for weddings, vow renewals, memorial services, and proposals, for a few decades. I am also a licensed, certified, and insured minister. I officiate and perform Hawaiian ceremonies with Aloha and Mele (Music).
